This past Sunday morning 11/03/03 approximately 4:15 AM - 4:30 AM New York Time, as is usual for me, I was unable to sleep I took my dog Shade out into my backyard for a walk. It was over cast and I was noticing how the street lights reddened their bottoms when I spotted a cluster of lights in the western sky.
Being that it was cloudy, these objects had to be either below the clouds or in them. At first I thought that I was looking at Jupiter and its moons for that is what they reminded me of but then it dawned on me, "Since when can you see the moons of Jupiter without your binoculars and through clouds at that?"When I thought of this, I rushed back inside to get my binoculars thinking I could get a better view of these objects with them.
What was strange was that the binoculars didn't make much of a difference for although they made them look bigger, I still could not make out any real or useful definition to the object, other than there was a large bright central orb with five smaller lights about it.I made these objects in my animations appear larger in the picture than they were in life so that you can see what they looked like they were much smaller to my eyes, yet I could see how many there were with my naked eyes. Please understand, I am diabetic, near sighted and am developing cataracts, but through the binoculars they looked as I saw them with my bare eyes. To me without the binoculars they were the size as you see them in my animation. With the binoculars they were half the size they are in the JPEG.

What it was, or they were, I do not know.
However, I do know that it was or they were in the clouds or behind them, but yet I could clearly see there was a cluster of them.
They never changed their positions, and flashed or twinkled in unison, but yet I know that stars twinkle and planets don't.
They were in a configuration that I have never seen stars in before, and kind of reminded me of The Eiffel Tower on a tilt. Its tip pointed to the East. Still they did remind me of the Moons of Jupiter, but I have never been able to see the moons of Jupiter with out binoculars. They to me were at the two o'clock position in the western sky. They were the only objects visible in the sky even where the clouds were thin no stars could been seen because of the alto stratus clouds above the lower cumulonimbus and cumulus clouds. If anyone reading this saw this object, or these objects, or has an idea as to what they were other than the obvious UFOs I believe them to be please contact me.
